Music and dance schools have become essential municipal facilities, fostering intellectual, aesthetic, and social development by encouraging physical and emotional expression and community interaction.

Historical and Physical — Located in the growing Ingenio neighborhood of San Pedro Alcántara near an old sugar factory, the project aims not only to create a music and dance school but also to stimulate urban development and set a quality benchmark for the area. The building is a modest, human-scale volume sensitive to the industrial heritage, with a continuous façade resembling a musical score that connects subtly to the past. It's a single-story building, respecting the flat topography and enhancing accessibility. Large rhythmic glazed openings and skylights create a harmonious connection with the exterior.

Social — The entrance façade's design invites interaction among parents and students. The building engages its surroundings openly, with no fences and a surrounding green ring that improves microclimate. Inside, "plazas" or gathering spaces encourage social interaction beyond mere transit corridors, including separate areas for music and dance wings, a foyer, and a library.

Environmental — The design focuses on minimizing resource consumption by using local materials and optimizing orientation for natural sunlight and cross ventilation via patios. Vegetation adds to comfort and environmental quality through evapotranspiration.
